I'm in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like. What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn't ever figure out what an each way payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I'd just eyeball it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet. The single bet calculator is the bit I use most — type in stake and odds and you get returns with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the bigger stuff — trebles returns, a lucky 15, a yankee, which is where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it's over at what is a trixie bet — free, no signup. What actually changed how I bet were the more serious tools. They've got an probability calculator that shows what margin's baked in, and there's the kelly calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutch tool is decent if I'm spreading across selections. Not all sunshine though. The interface is a bit basic — no polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it works although the bigger tables are a squeeze. And no proper app, it's browser only — doesn't bother me just flagging it. So yeah. Free, barely any ads, does what it says. There's an odds-to-probability calculator which shows you the overround, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent if I'm splitting a race. Not all sunshine though. The layout looks very functional, let's say — no flash, which honestly I don't mind but some will. On my phone it's usable but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there's nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me but you asked. Right, that's me. Doesn't cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — it's saved me plenty of "wait, that's it?" moments.
